This week we had our business symposium! Most of my friends were nervous about it, but I was actually confident about it. The worst part of the symposium was the formal attire, but I know that I’ll need to get used to it. Sometimes wearing uncomfortable clothing can distract from conversations, I just need to make sure to get more comfortable shoes. Other than formal wear being an inconvenience, it was a great experience as an event. I learned a lot from it and I know that I’ll use the experience to assist myself in the future and in my introduction into the business world. I talked to a woman who works for a railroad company and listening to her describe everything she does and the jobs that the people she works with do made me realize just how many jobs actually exist. New jobs are closer to being created every day and with the development of new technologies, it’s made a lot easier. It makes me feel a lot better about my future success in life. Even if I don’t end up going with the route I have currently planned, I believe that i can still be incredibly successful in a different way. I know that I will be able to find a job that works for me and is sustainable simultaneously. This business symposium introduced me to a lot of new ideas and I got some advice from professionals that will absolutely help me in the future.
